Last week I read about how the apostle Peter appealed to a “more sure word” (cf. 2 Pet. 1:19) that supersedes his eyewitness testimony. I quickly realized that when it comes to revealing God’s divine hand in the Scriptures we ought to use the tool that was given to us by the Divine hand that feeds us as He says “Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come” (Isa. 46:9-10).
I decided to hit the street with Isa. 53: 3-5 which clearly speaks of Jesus Christ. So clear in fact that I have had about a dozen conversations using the 3 basic questions I use in the video to gauge where the person is at in understanding according to Scriptures and hands down everyone hits the nail on the head with the Isaiah passage “that is Jesus.”
Also to my surprise I discovered some things that were not expected. The majority of the people I encountered didn’t even know the name of the first book in the bible, or the name of the man that built the Ark. One of them yesterday didn’t know that the Bible was broken up into two major parts even after I prompted him with the first part old testament and the….? He didn’t know! He sure knew that Isa. 53 was Jesus though:)
The young man I have posted in this interview was a pleasure to speak to. He was a well read existentialist and after the interview was over we sat and talked for at least 2 more hours on what better subject than the purpose of life, which to me meant using every chance I got to articulate the Gospel and approach that one truth from every field of knowledge I could.
It ended kindly and I hope to see him again one day on earth or in heaven. Be praying for him and his 2 friends that were standing by the whole time:)
